LOCAL LAW NO. 3 OF 2012
A LOCAL LAW ENACTING
AN APPEARANCE TICKETS
NOTICES OF VIOLATION LAW
SECTION 1. PURPOSE.
The purpose of this local law is to enact an appearance tickets and notices of violation chapter as part of the Village Code, various parts of which were in substance included in § 30 and § 1,200 in the 1967 and 1989 Village Ordinances books.
SECTION 2. ENACTMENT.
A Chapter [__] of the Village Code entitled Appearance Tickets and Notices of Violation is enacted, as follows:
§ [__]-1. Enumeration of Authorized Officials.
The following public servants of the Village are authorized to issue and serve appearance tickets and notices in connection with violation of local laws, ordinances, or rules and regulations of the Village that such public servants are respectively authorized to enforce:
(1) Building Inspector.
(2) Code Enforcement Officers.
§ [__]-2. Service.
Appearance tickets shall be served personally, excepting parking tickets and notices of violation.
§ [__]-3. Severability.
If any provision of this Chapter [__] is ruled unconstitutional or invalid, said ruling shall not affect the validity of other provisions of said chapter or said chapter as a whole.
SECTION 3. EFFECTIVE DATE.
This local law shall take effect immediately upon filing with the Secretary of State as provided by law.
SECTION 4. REPLACEMENT OF EXISTING LOCAL LAW.
This local law upon its effective date shall in all respects supersede § 30 and § 1,200 in the 1967 and 1989 Ordinances books and any similar local law heretofore adopted by the Board of Trustees, each of which is hereby repealed.
