Police Constables

Sec. 30.

It shall be the duty of the police constable to preserve public order, as far as lies in his power, to quell any disturbance in the village, and arrest any perpetrators thereof; to disperse any crowds collected on the streets or corners; to arrest with or without process any disorderly person and take him or her before the proper officer; to prevent persons gathering on the steps or sidewalks or public places in said Village, so as to interfere with or annoy persons in passing; to arrest and take before the proper officers any person violating any ordinance of the Village, to serve notice or warning of the violation of any ordinance, when so directed by the Mayor or Trustees.
