Encroachments

Sec. 4.

It shall not be lawful for any person to erect, cause to be erected or maintained within the limits of said Village, any awning, shed, roof, or any other overhead obstruction, or the branches of any tree, within a less distance than eight feet in the clear from the surface of any sidewalk or street. No person shall hereafter erect or maintain any piazza, building or obstruction of any kind within the line of any street or sidewalk in said village without consent of the board of Trustees, any obstruction not conforming to this section is to be removed, and for a failure to remove the same, after notice, the person offending shall be liable to a penalty of not more than two hundred and fifty dollars.
