This is the 90th Anniversay of the Shoreham-Wading River Tennis Tournament-- a friendly, annual rivalry unbroken since 1924-- reportedly the oldest of its kind in the USA.
Pictured above is the victorious and incredibly good-looking 1979 Shoreham Tennis Team-- from back when the rivalry was only 55 years old. Click on photo for enlargement. Many thanks to perennial Wading River Tennis Great Stephanie Bail for sharing a series of other wonderful photos of that event, which can be viewed on Flickr at http://flic.kr/s/aHsjR6doCx. (Please excuse any pop-up ads. Thanks to John Bates and Michael Madigan of Shoreham for the above photo.
