Removal of Sand, Pebbles, Etc., from Beach Prohibited

Sec 43.

The removal of sand, gravel and/or pebbles from any part of the public or semi-public beach within the Village of Shoreham is hereby prohibited, except under written permit duly authorized by the Board of Trustees, and duly issued and signed by the Mayor or Acting Mayor. No permit for any such removal of material shall be issued or authorized except to property owners in the said Village who require and actually intend to use such material in minor construction or repair work on his or her property within the Village. All permits issued or obtained contrary to the provisions hereof shall be void and of no effect. Every person violating and/or aiding or abetting the violation of this ordinance shall be deemed a disorderly person and in addition to the penalties otherwise provided therefor shall be liable to a fine of not more than two hundred and fifty dollars for each and every offence.
